The wales experience

I have just got back from my Christmas Holiday to wales, boy was it cold!!! Wales was beautiful! Loved every minute of it! the people i travelled with were fab as well, think we are going to have a catch up when the festive SEASON calms down a bit.
i spent Christmas there with 8 others (aussies and saffas). we all had the most amazing Christmas day and really couldn't believe our luck. it was fantastic and a great way to spend Christmas away from the family. We stayed in a beautiful farm house cottage, with everything inclusive in the price, no snow but it was just great. Christmas morning we went to a chapel and experienced a welsh speaking Christmas service. Then we went to Dans(tour guide) grandparents house for a walk through the fields then back to the house for some mulled wine. then on to another relies house for snacks and mulled wine. Dans family were just wonderful. We had a traditional Christmas lunch in our cottage then later headed out to the local pub to meet more of the locals. It was a lovely day.

We covered so much of wales in 5 days but the best was on the way to wales. we climbed the most amazing mountain 1000 metres above sea level, (it was called Pan n Fay.pronounced pan n van, it was so cold, the grass and trees, mud, water was frozen, the clouds were so low that we could hardly see 10 metres in font of us. as we came through the clouds and on top of the mountain i felt as though i had landed in heaven, it was breath taking, we were above the clouds and the sky was crystal clear ant the most amazing blue. as we descended down we watched the sun set, i have never seen anything like it!
we covered most of wales north, west and south. it didn't snow or rain, but was so cold. we saw 12th century castles, climbed mountains went to the sea side. on boxing day we saw the beginning of a traditional fox hunt with loads of hound dogs. drank more mulled wine, watched the end of the traditional boxing day match of rugby between to 2 local towns. then went to a pub got locked in and drank late in to the night with the locals.
Was a little rough Wednesday morning but got through the day. The wind from the cliff on the north of wales refreshed me and cleaned my soul.
It was a long trip home but was well worth the trip.
