North America Travels 2006

Today was a free day, so everyone could do whatever they wanted to do. Some of my group went white water rafting, I just wandered the town. Went a sat beside the Bow River that winds through the township. It was a beautiful day. We discovered that there had been a bear attack just down the road fro our campground last night, the man had to be flown out to Calagry and the bear was shot. (I have heard that it even made the news in Australia!). Here in Banff you can only own property if you work there or own a business. If people want to make changes to their houses they have to apply and their names are placed in a lottery system and only five names are pulled out each year. This is so that there is little construction going on since it is part of a national park system.
