70 mile bike trip through Southern Bohemia |

Hello all! A lot of you are going to be surprised but I successfully completed a 70 mile bike trip through the Czech countryside. I didn't think I would last through the first day because it was absolutely grueling! We were told it was a "relaxing" bicycle trip and we should not have to overexert ourselves. That was a big lie! It turned out that we were going on very rough terrain through forests and, you all know, that is not my style. It also didn't help that I rode my bike in 5th gear for an entire day. I know, I know, I am such an idiot. But like I said before, this is not my thing.

We spent the evening in a cute little town right on the river. Of course, because we were by a river that involves jumping in the river. Keep in mind, it was cloudy and cold out but that did not stop us. The water was colder than any of us expected so we jumped out as fast as we jumped in then showered and had a fantastic dinner.

I woke up the next morning incredibly sore and I looked outside to see torrential downpour. Again, this is not my thing!! I was going to take a train home and skip all of the second day but luckily I did not. I found that my gears were off so when I learned how to use them the hills were MUCH easier. It was also a more scenic and easy ride. I saw some of the most beautfiul countryside I've ever seen. Whatever you picture little towns to look like in the Czech Republic you are most likely correct. We also were surrounded by fields of yellow numerous times that smelled fantastic. I later found that Czech is known for growing canola so it is everywhere.

The trip ended with us being extremely exhausted but totally fulfilled. It was definitely one of the most amazing trips I've been on. Hope you enjoy the pictures!
