traveling in a wheelchair
The world we live in today does not cater very well to the needs of persons traveling in wheelchairs. When many para/quad persons travel, they often encounter various hurdles in finding comfortable accommodations and easy access to transportation. We (my parents and I) have traveling around much of North America. Our next big leap will be to England and Europe. My hope is to rent a "lowered floor wheelchair accessible minivan" for a month or more and spend a week here and there throughout England and Europe in "wheelchair friendly" self-catering apartments or homes. A "roll-in-shower" in each facility will be a requirement. www.travelonwheels.com |
