Well. What a drama getting to Singapore. After an unexpected nights stay in Sydney and a business class (thanks Staff travel) trip to Melbourne, we made it to Singapore. We were seated apart from each other on the plane, but it was just good to both be on! Singapore was great! The hotel was lovely. Spectacular views over the city. It was stinking hot though. Very humid. I don't think Wade could ever live there! We made our way to Sentosa Island for a bit of a look around. We were planning on going by monorail - however found a cable car so did that instead. Think Christchurch gondola - but then multiply the distance by a bit! Sentosa was great. Very commercial, however we enjoyed it. Had a paddle in the sea, did a luge ride, and just looked around. Saw our first helecopters with BIG guns. We assume they were guarding the international waters - but we are not sure! The next day we did a hop on hop off bus tour around Singapore. It was a great way to see the sights. We wandered through the gardens, down Orchard Rd (in the sanctuary of the air conditioned buildings), past Raffles (we didn't stop for a Singapore Sling!)Along the river etc I think we walked about 10 or so kms, and sweated heaps - so - so far this is the best weightloss program ever!!! We headed to the airport for our flight to London - however all the flights were full - so we ended up spending an extra day in Singapore, closer to the airport - so not the usual tourist areas!!! Need I say more. We go on a flight the next night and made our way to London...
