The Clifton Beach |

After a short and refreshing nap and a small snack we decided to waste no time and drove to swim in the Atlantic.

Kevin took his brother and us in his car for the tour via CT and Green Point down to Clifton. However, our first encounter was a very short one - Atlantic was shockingly cold (at least for us - about 12 degC). But the beaches and Clifton itself are very nice. We were told that Clifton has the most expensive houses in the area - and it shows. So after a short walk on the beach we drove back to CT. We took the other road, around the Table Mountain, to the Waterfront.

Waterfront is said to be the most visited place in South Africa. And it really is a very touristy place - lots of shops and great restaurants. As we did not have much time before we had to return back home for the dinner, we walked it through, checked for some interesting places to visit later on - and drove back home for the first warm meal of the day. Dinner was great, we had a tasty South African wine, and after a couple of hours of eating and drinking we went to bed to be ready for our tomorrow's trip to the top of the Table Mountain. First day in South Africa was great.

Locations Visited: Clifton, Durbanville
