The Khan's Palace at Bakhchisarai 2005

Bakhchisarai, Crimea, Ukraine |

We had one-day tour to Bakhchisarai organised by my university. It took about 3-4 hours bus from Simferopol to Bakhchisarai.

We visited Muslim’s mosques, former palace of Crimean khans – Khan’s Palace and Christian’s cave monastery.

The highlight of visiting Bakhchisarai was to see the Fountain of Tears. I was told about the love story of a king and a polish woman and there after they got married. When the queen passed away the king was very sad. He instructed his people to build this fountain as memorial to his beloved wife.

A lot of souvenir shops around that area. We had wonderful day in Bakhchisarai.
