Al Bara to Aphamea |

Syria's historical sites have much to offer and for some reason are less crowded with tourists crawling all over the ancient artifacts ... The sites are very well maintained as well

Al Bara was a little stopping off point on our way to Hama and the Crac des Chevaliers. On the way we passed Aphamea, which has a very impressive collumnaded street, with one column having a very strange cartoonish character (apparently of the city's founder, Seleucus). Maybe a stone mason was taking the piss ...

Onto Hama - a city of creaking ancient waterwheels - some of which look like they have been in operation for years. A pretty cool place

Locations Visited: Al Barah, Hama
