Trinidad |

Wow, what a place. I think I have found my spiritual home. The place is a shrine to music and dance (salsa, of course), every street cafe, bar and restaurant has a live band and every house has the radio blaring and everywhere, whatever time will be someone dancing to it . . .

Harriet and I retreated quickly from the bustle of Havana and found a beautiful haven in the old colonial town of Antigua; gorgeous colonial buildings line cobbled streets, a stretch of palm-tree fringed white sand is only a short coco-taxi ride away and the very first evening saw me practicing my salsa moves with a crazy old man in a panama hat (see Harriet for video footage!). The dancing is incredible, a whole world away from what we thought was good in Costa Rica, and to start with we simply watched in awe before deciding that what we really needed were private lessons in the courtyard of a beautiful ruined old theatre. And so the 2 weeks passed all too quickly, but there is absolutely no doubt that I will be back there, hopefully very soon.
