It´s the done thing on the traveller circuit to look upon these American-tourist filled resorts with an upturned nose and a look of disdain, but with gorgeous beaches, hundreds of bars, clubs and restaurants and proper clothes shops (heaven!), albeit at UK prices, I loved it. Only down side was it rained so didn´t get to enjoy the beach, but made up for it in Isla Mujeres, a small island off the coast by Cancun, where the weather was fab and the beaches lovely.
