We stayed in Row's parent's apartment in Bangkok while we were there which was lovely! I wouldn't say we have been typically backpacking while we have been here but we will do soon!
As Row knows BK inside out she has taken us around most of the cool stuff - the Buddha temples, night markets, Bedsupper Club, good places to get fake dvds, a boat trip up the main river - and her parents have kindly taken us out for lots of yummy meals:-).
We went to Ko Samet for a few days (island south of Bangkok) which was cool - it was really booked up though so had to stay in a tent! We pretty much spent 3 days drinking cocktails on the beach although we did go on a speed boat around the island and snorkelled.
We also visited Ko Samui and Ko Pangnang (not sure of spelling) for a few days which was cool (lazed on beaches and went to bars mostly).
On our last few days in Bangkok we went to see some elephants in Iota (or somewhere). They were happy elephants though so it was good - i.e. not being used to make money. The baby ones were sooo cute!! have put up pictures..
