Some bright spark in Nottingham University’s Geography Dept decided to go to Mallorca for the compulsory 1st year fieldtrip...it proved to be no work and all play, which certainly didn’t make for any dull boys or girls...although it did make for the lowest mark in my whole degree (48) and some terrible hangovers...bring it on... Basically, by day we pretended to do such work as ‘beach profile surveys’ (aka sitting on the beach), ‘tourist surveys’ (aka sitting on the beach) and ‘mapping surveys’ (aka sitting on the beach), although to be fair in the evening we varied things and went to a few bars and on a couple of memorable nights, to Magaluf...strangely enjoyable, but not somewhere I’d visit through choice!
