This part of the Rila was even more impressive than the previous two days...and boy did we see alot of it...

The first day was a tough one; 1000+ metres of ascent saw us reach the beautiful isolated hut of Ivan Vazov, one of my favourite of the trip (certainly the friendliest), not least because of the beautiful sunset we enjoyed there. The owners even allowed Leah to ride one of their horses for a while!

The second day was even worse. Deciding to take a 'shortcut', we walked along an ever narrowing path, which then disappeared altogether and forced us to contour up, over and around to the next valley and descend on another route. With less than 1km to go at 11 o'clock, we didn't arrive until 4...
