London in Spring

Bath and Stonehenge |

Monday the 29th is a bank holiday here in London town so rather than spend my Sunday at Church my friend Michelle suggested we take a coach day trip to Bath and Stonehenge. For those of you who haven’t experienced the joys of coach tours I’d suggest you don’t forget to take a book or your ipod. For those of you that have you’ll feel my pain =) top that and I was sitting in the Korean corner with no English speaking people in sight. Ahh well it all makes the experience.

Bath was great! I can defiantly see why it was seen as the place to be and the old English gentry went there improve their status. The city has a legal requirement that all buildings in bath be built using the local lime stone or bath stone.

I didn’t get any photos of it but back in the coal burning days the limestone absorbed the carbon emissions turning black. There has been a restoration project to clean the old buildings, unfortunately the process involves using a tooth brush on the older builds… lets just say it’s a work in progress…

Stonehenge was smaller than I expected (everyone says that I know) but it was still an impressive site, both from and engineering point of few and for me actually being on the other side of the world.

Locations Visited: Bath
