So the day finally arrived as I said goodbye to family and left Brisbane… again. In retrospect it seemed a lot longer than only 2 and a half months since we got back. But time really flew.

The day before our little family spent a magical day at Wet ‘n’ Wild. As I flew high above Brisbane I got the smallest pangs of guilt. But I realised it was more to do with missing Paula and the kids for a few weeks, rather than a deep-seeded longing for Brisbane. It’s been a great place for me, but sometimes it’s time to move onto the next chapter of your life.

While we’re on similes, I felt like our big trip was like an unfinished book from a new favourite author that you didn’t want to put down, but had to for one reason or another. And now, as I sit tired in a lounge in Singapore – killing time between flights and strangely enough awaiting my first ever massage for only about $30 – I know picking up that book and continuing the adventure is the best way forward.

Yes, it’ll be a little hard at the start and I know Paula is going to do it tough looking after the kids, finishing up her work and packing the house (again). But at least it get’s me started back at work doing some really interesting stuff, while also getting our house and new English life together.
