Day 1 - Sydney to Tokyo

Well time to leave for Japan. Managed to cram in all the last minute packing and hoping that I didn’t forget anything. Also waxed the board, cleaned some stuff, played with the new camera and then it was 2am already.

Got up early to get to the airport but already was a bit cruisy for me. As I went about it very relaxed, so by the time we were at the airport there was a massive line. Luckily for me Wayne and the crew travelling with them had already got there and I managed to check in with them.

The flight over there was pretty uneventful. Managed to sleep a little bit and the noise cancelling headphones I borrowed from Karina did the wonders. As for the movies that were showing, well here are my ratings:

- Flags of our fathers (very badly put together as you don’t get what is going on, it skips all over the place and fight scenes are terrible. During the movie you don’t know where its skipped to and where it goes to. So I’d say its not very good. You know kinda what is spose to happen but don’t know how it gets there and why. 3/10
- Guardians (bit of the usual, trouble bad boy who is gifted and someone shows the way. Bit stupid but at least better than Flags of our fathers. (4/10)
- Black Dahlia (stupid no comment) 1/10 gets a rating just for having a pretty chick and semi nude scene

Arrived in Tokyo and our mission was to get to JAL Haneda City Hotel where we were to stay overnight. Simple calculations and the result was this.

Option 1 - Train with 2 changes and walking about 10 minutes with luggage (Estimated time 2hrs, and cost Y1800)

Option 2 - Bus with 1 change and no walking. However (estimated driving time was expected to be 1hr) however, it took over 2hrs 45 mins as you had to allow for waiting time and change.

Everyone chose Option 2, and I succumbed and went with them. Eventually we got to Hotel, and quickly changed and headed out to Shibuya to see what was around and grab a bite to eat. Eventually we got to Bed around 1am needing to get up at 5am to get on our flight to Sapporo! What a day.
