Australia 2005
Next stop was Canberra where we stayed with Stuart and Philippa, friends of Kiril. Despite its reputation of being empty of anything, even people, thanks to my team of local ‘guides’ I rather liked this odd city with more countryside within it than some British counties. We went out for a night of drinking with a gang of Kiril’s friends, most of whom regaled me with lurid tales of his scarlet past. During the day we climbed Mount Ainslee for an impressive panorama of the city and visited the War Memorial. We also managed a quick look at the National Art Gallery with Tacye, where we particularly liked the sculpture garden. |
