Two weeks and counting!

Hi guys!

Well, can you believe that it is now less than two weeks until Bex is homeward bound as she lands back in the UK on the 23rd.

So what's been happening in Fiji since my last entry? Diving, diving and more diving and she's loving every minute of it! With training over they are now getting down to some real work and their days are spent surveying like mad - it's exhausting but very rewarding. She has seen some amazing things and had the odd close encounter ... on one dive Bex had a shark swimming less than 2m below her and has also been 'terrorised' by a sharksucker (harmless enough but pretty annoying when they stick themselves to your leg!). Bex has also been spear fishing and managed to catch 3 fish which she took back to camp to cook. And by all accounts not only does she have coral cuts galore but she also has some pretty spectacular tan lines from where she has been wearing her rash vest and dive boots, hee hee!

The rats continue their harassment - this time chewing a hole in her bula dress amongst other things and the highlight of her weekend was visiting another village which had a flushing loo - such luxury, she was sooooooo happy!!

With so little time left, she has realised how much she will miss the island and its people - particularly Tico (her adopted Fijian mum)- and the other villagers from Navatu, who have welcomed them all with open arms. But on the plus side, she is really looking forward to seeing family and friends again!

So, I think that's about it for now folks - enjoy the sunshine and don't work too hard!
