Spring Break - Florence |

Upon arrival in Florence we wandered the streets looking for our hostel. We had so many people come and help us though it was great! Random people, young and old that did and didn't speak English offering their services! Then the final couple came up to us and physically walked us to our "hostel" which was actually a loft apartment. Excellent!! We saw the Duomo. A huge church with separate bell tower and baptistry, all made out of pink, green, and white marble on the outside. The inside was not exciting other than it's sheer size! We visited Santa Croce which is where Rafael and Gallileo are buried. He crossed the Old Bridge which is the only surviving bridge from before the war in Florence. All of the others had to be rebuilt. The Uffizi musuem is there as well and housed works of Leonardo, Rafael, and Michelangelo. Then over to the Accademia which is where Michelangelo's statue of David is located. Absolutly AMAZING!! The best site I have seen! The detail, the size, the scale, is perfect! There is no other way to describe it. One of the greatest things I've ever come across. Gelato was a main focus of Florence as well since one of the best places in the country is located there, Vivoli, so delicious!! This was by far my favorite city!
