Back in Shorts

One of many crack of dawn starts as the shuttle picked us up from the hotel and took us to Brisbane airport. We took our seats over the engine (great!) and sped out over the Australian outback to Alice Springs. The terrain was a pallette of reds, yellows and blacks with no sign of life for hundreds of miles. The landing was slightly shakey making us a bit nervous. Alice springs airport is tiny. The van from the hostel picked us up and we were soon checked into our room. We took a short walk into town and the heat just hit us. It was like being back in New York in July. As there was not much to do there we decided to have a couple of drinks in a local pub and went back to the room to sleep it off. We later had a curry in the hostel and went to bed ready for our early start for Uluru tomorrow.
