well, this is a few images from the sessions and the moments leading up to them. I feel like the last 8 years of my life (if not more) have been leading up to this moment, and sometimes i think i might have dreamt it all and i will wake up to be told the dream is over... but they tell me the recording should be out sometime this coming June... It was a fenomenally emotional expirience! from finding the wonderful LuisMiguel manzano, one of the best flamenco guitarists in Madrid, one night in the famous Casa Patas one night in July 2005. then going back in sepetember to hear what he has come up with as arrangements to the 7 falla popoular songs and working through it all with him in his mother´s flat in the madrid Quater of Vallecas. the lovely Loli (Luismi´s mother) did not stop to feed us, make us coffees and generally make sure we were ok. and all the family, most of whom are well known Flamenco artists in madrid, coming in to hear our rehearsals and give us advice. Then the rehearsals in london with the wonderful and sublime pianist-conductor Yuval Zorn. the Luismi coming for rehearsal over to london, and to hear me sing live in a concert. and then, finally, the moment of truth. the recordings on the week beginning the 14th of November. well, the test will be to hear what you all think once you have heard when it comes out in June.... the launce concert in on the 18th in the chelsea festival. Don´t forget to come! and bring the world and his wife!
